Fan Zhou, Ph.D. | 周帆

Fan received his Ph.D. in hematopoietic stem cell development at Bing Liu's lab, Academy of Military Medical Sciences. He subsequently joined Fuchou Tang group at Peking University as a postdoc to study molecular regulating early human embryogenesis. In 2020, Fan became a faculty to initiate his independent lab at School of Life Sciences and Tsinghua-Peking Center for Life Sciences, Tsinghua. Fan has received numerous academic honors, including the Ray Wu Prize (2016) from Ray Wu Memorial Fund, election to Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program (2017) and the Top Ten Advances in Life Sciences (2019) from China Association for Science and Technology, Young Yangtze River Scholar (2023) from Chinese Ministry of Education and Outstanding Young Investigator Award (2024) from Chinese Society for Stem Cell Research (CSSCR).

Fanfan Meng | 孟繁繁

Fanfan graduated and earned her M.S. degree from Capital Normal University. She used to study mitochondrial dynamics in C. elegans at Dr. Wei Wei's lab. In July 2024, Fanfan join the Zhoulab as Research Assistant to study embryonic development, supporting Dr. Fan Zhou and lab members. In her spare time, she likes reading and running.

Qingyuan Zhu | 朱庆元

Qingyuan received his M.B. & B.S degree from the Kunming University of Science and Technology. He then joined the lab of Dr. Tianqing Li at the Yunnan Key Laboratory of Primate Biomedical Research to further study stem cell therapy, embryo development, and earned his M.S. degree in zoology. Inspired by the single-cell multi-omics analyses, he is joining the Zhou lab with the interest in mining gene-expression patterns during mouse peri-implantation development upon computational methods. Outside the lab, he is a hobby traveler and loves to enjoy a variety of delicious food.

Shengyi graduated from Northeast Forestry University. He joined Zhou Lab in 2021 with PTN program. Shengyi investigates X chromosome biology and lineage specification with single-cell profiling and bioinformatics.

Jitao Ge | 葛吉涛

Jitao received his B.S. degree from Nanjing Agricultural University. He joined Zhou Lab in 2021. He interests in developing single-cell multi-omics and high throughout methods to uncover the molecular patterns during embryonic development and cell fate transition. Ying Liu | 刘莹

Ying received her M.S. degree from Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where she worked on the interaction between DNA methylation and histone modifications in mammals. Ying joined Zhou Lab in August, 2021 as a research intern. She is interested in the regulation of embryo implantation and tumor evolution.

Lin Zhang, Ph.D. | 张琳

Lin received her Ph.D. from Tsinghua University, under the supervision of Dr. Anming Meng, where she worked on the early development and RNA dynamics of zebrafish embryo. Lin joined Zhou Lab in 2020, with the support by CLS postdoctoral fellowship since April 2021. She targets mother-offspring interaction across the embryo implantation by developing in vitro culture systems. Lin enjoys swimming in her spare time. Lin joined the Institute of Genetics and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences as an Assistant Investigator in Nov 2022.

Jia-Wen Xu, Ph.D. | 徐嘉雯

Jia-Wen received her B.S. degree in Life Science and Ph.D. degree in Physiology from Sun Yat-sen University. During Ph.D. training, Jia-Wen worked on the ion transport of epithelial cells in reproductive system and the effect of uterine fluid microenvironment on embryo implantation. She joined Zhou Lab in the winter of 2020, with the support by CLS postdoctoral fellowship since April 2021. Jia-wen is interested in reproductive niche regulating embryogenesis with physiological and omics analysis. Off the lab, Jia-Wen enjoys birding in her spare time. Jia-Wen became a Research Scientist, Pharmaron Beijing Co., Ltd. (China) since Jan 2023.

Tianyi Zhang | 张天奕

Tianyi graduated from Sichuan University and studied in the laboratory of Dr. Zhonghan Li. She then joined Zhou Lab in 2021 via CLS program, aiming to explore DNA-methylation dynamics during early mammalian development via developing new technologies. Tianyi hopes the best for successfully fulfilling her Ph.D., instead of permanent hair damage. In addition to spending days and nights conducting experiments, she likes to do some handcrafts.

Yajin Mo | 莫亚金

Yajin received his B.S. degree from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and wears a hat anytime and anywhere. As a rotation student at Zhou Lab from Oct to Nov, 2020, Yajin drafted this website and set up a preliminary computing server for the starting lab. He also roughly teased out lineage markers of early mouse embryos with computational analysis as well as his beloved cat (yet).
